Made in Arkansas by Mc Spadden, these excellent instruments meet and exceed the expectations of discriminating players. All models include a standard padded canvas case, pick, noter, instruction book and warranty information. String-notches in nut and bridge allow setup for playing in the original 3-string mode, or in 4-string mode. This model has 4 strings, a Scroll peghead, teardrop shape with walnut top, back and sides.
The McSpadden Standard dulcimers have a 28 ½” vibrating string length and are usually tuned in the Key of D with 6 ½ and 13 ½ frets included. The basic setup is D-A-AA. From that setup you can use any of the common tunings. If you expect to play only in D-A-dd, we recommend ordering the bridge compensation option to optimize playability in that tuning.
