About Us...

Kelischek Workshop for Historical Instruments was founded by Geigenbaumeister (Master Violin Maker) George Kelischek in Witten, Germany, on May 1st 1955. We moved to the USA
in 1960 and incorporated in North Carolina as Kelhorn Corporation in 1972.
May 1st, 2007 marks the beginning of our fifty-third year of business.

Our mission is to provide top quality services and products at affordable prices. Our emphasis is in the field of early music and folk music. We manufacture the world renowned Susato Pennywhistles, Tabor-Pipes, Txistu, Pentatonic and wide-bore Recorders. We are also known for our Minnesinger Hurdy-Gurdies and many other stringed instruments. All Susato brand products are made in the USA, in our Brasstown North Carolina shop.

We also publish editions of early and contemporary music for recorders and many other instruments under the name of Susato Press Editions.

We are very appreciative of your support and trust. We pledge to continue giving you the best service possible. When in the mountains of Western North Carolina, visit our showroom. We hope to meet you soon, whether by phone, fax, e-mail, or in person!

Sincerely,
Rose Marie, George, Michael, Thomas, Sabine and Nicholas Kelischek
